Appreciation

In AIC, appreciation is the domain of sensing the whole situation and the whole system of systems. It is involves any process that widens the group's shared sense of possibilities and harmony, and the opposite of course.

Appreciation of the whole--the largest, most inclusive, and longest view possible.

In the rough and tumble of our community lives some things will be prioritized over others for a whole host of reasons. People will use their Influence to get support for their priorities.

This is a very dynamic social space. Individuals and institutions may enlist the power of shared ideals to broaden the appeal for their values. But they may also avoid any reference to ideals so as not to draw attention to particularly self-centered values and goals.

Shared commitments to Goals and action (or resistance to action) arise from this influencing behavior.
