Bill and his wife had truly amazing success working across the globe at village to national levels. They started their collaboration while working for the World Bank and moved beyond the confines of that institution.

The methodology is very very simple and very powerful if you follow a few simple rules:

* Develop a personal understanding of Appreciation, Influence, and Control.

* Spend equal amounts of time and energy with each of these three explorations.

* Move to Appreciative explorations of the whole system as soon as possible.

* Follow this with an exploration of Influence among all the stakeholders.

* Building on the Appreciation and Influence explorations, explore the capacity and capability for Control (action projects).
