Note: The UN Sustainable Development Goals are internally inadequate, inconsistent, contradictory and a tragic misdirection of attention and effort. A sham perpetrated on well meaning global and local citizens. I suspect that profit and political survival are the drivers rather than unawareness. It is another elitist scheme.
**On Development:** understanding sustainable development implies answering two questions: what is Sustainability and sustainable, and what is development or developmental regarding sustainability?
**On sustainability and sustainable:** Questions on how to become or remain sustainable can be answered at the level of people, organisations and other social systems such as neighborhoods, cities, countries, and the planet.
Understanding Development means asking: how do we transform?
