# Energy Energy is essential for heating, cooling, transportation, manufacturing, farming--everything. Energy on the earth ultimately comes from the sun, from effects of gravity, or from nuclear reactions.
**PROBLEM:** Global warming and density of human population can require more energy than is locally available.
Remote energy producers are not necessarily responsive to local needs or local economics.
**THEREFORE:** We should all produce the renewable energy that we need where we use it and match our needs and our energy sources.
