Pod Club is an asynchronous salon format to explore speech based journalism and media literacy within the public sphere.
Using podcasts as source material for discussion, it combines a book-club style format (sociable and informal) with groupwork and peer mentoring for annotating notes about episodes in Federated Wiki.
The activity would implicitly explore the cultural and political significance of generating content (and meta data) for the good of the commons. It would also be a fun and friendly way to help people discover the wonders of federated wiki.
# Context Pod Club is a Book club for podcasts. However we are fairly lax about what constitutes a podcast. Another influence on the format are the ideas we developed in an earlier incarnation around the Outlandish Academy.
